Farzad Omidi

Summary

Dedicated to the art of choral music, my journey has been shaped by a blend of rigorous self-study and enriching international experiences. Before fully immersing myself in the world of music, I pursued a degree in software engineering in Iran, a country with a rich cultural tapestry but significant artistic challenges, I seized every opportunity to refine my skills and expand my horizons. This dedication has allowed me to build a robust network in the choral music community, stretching from Sri Lanka to the U.S., enhancing my ability to perform internationally, participate in prestigious choral festivals, and organize masterclasses with renowned professors worldwide. I am committed to continuous growth in my roles as a conductor, teacher, and performer, actively contributing to the musical communities I am part of. For more details about my professional journey or to discuss potential collaborations, please feel free to reach out to me via my email at contact@iFarzad.com.

World Youth Choir

In 2020, at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, some singers of the World Youth Choir sessions 2018-2020 had the idea to put together a virtual choir. In the impossibility of being physically together, 71 young singers and WYC board members from 32 countries sent in their videos, and this beautiful ensemble came together to sing An Irish Blessing (Irish traditional, arr. by James E. Moore).

Viatores Mundi

Hymn of Acxiom, described as “sacred music for Big Data” is written from the voice of a global marketing database. The song’s choir entreats the user in a loving, caring way – ascribing human characteristics to machines that are constantly harvesting data points about our every online action, and all the virtual things we engage, purchase and consume as a way of better understanding who we are.
